On the "Vanagon Ham" thread,  John Bange posted some shots of Geldsauger
(near as I can tell, this means "money pit").

shows a picture of the trim around the rear window.

Mellow Yellow has the same trim, that faded orange-ish strip on the
black rubber. I have two questions:

1. What is that faded strip called?
2. What color was it originally?
