I at a lot of those too. 1969 to 1991 I ate c rats and the initial mre and then the mid mre. (missed the current mre by a couple years.) We even got some of the kitchen rats. The tv dinners that got dropped into a steam bath for about 10 minutes if I remember the time right. Now those S####cked. I am told that those have been greatly improved now. C rats cooked up real nice over the exhaust of a dash 8 generator (unless you were a certain second butter and forgot to put some holes in the top of the can.
