I'll second Rob. I've been to Plaskett Creek Campground and it's nice. The jade beach is a small hike across the fields and there are stairs down to the beach. Big Sir has the River Inn. Been years since I have been there but they use to have great breakfasts. There are many camping possibilities in BS.
Up in Carmel/Monterey area is the small town of Pacific Grove. Get into downtown Pacific Grove and there are many great restaurants. Up the coast between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay is San Gregorio. Lots of great beaches. One of my favorite places on the coast. In Half Moon Bay there are many good seafood places, right off Rt 1 and 35.
