The Bentley is crucial. We always have some traveling information, like State Park and National Park books & brochures. Now we also carry the National Geographic Road Atlas - Adventure Edition, and a friend just bought us a copy of “Next Exit” one of those books that lists everything at major interstate exits which is kinda handy. Honestly, reading maps is as cool as reading some books. For the real library when we travel we usually choose one book to bring along for reading aloud. These vary, but generally we grab something light or that we want to read again like “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Traveling with characters or stories we’ve read before is like packing up with old friends while on the road. Keeping only one or two in the van at any given time keeps the stories with the trip. Finally, we also grab whatever magazines that might be laying around, but we have yet to actually read them. Bookcrossing.com is a cool way to find & release books on the road. -Julia http://www.wanderwagen.com |
