Actually, how the link is displayed depends entirely on the recipient's mail client, and possibly even how their mail client is configured.

For instance, even this bracketed version is broken/wrapped in Outlook Express for windows. If you want to have the best chances of producing a clickable link, your best bet is something like TinyURL. For archival sake, a copy of the complete original link (wrapped if necessary) should also be included for if/when the TinyURL shortcut expires.

For those who use Firefox as their browser, there is a handy extension that gives you quick and easy access to automatically TinyURL long addresses.
