Take a test light and start with the cables down by the switch Ignition on you try the incoming then check the outgoing with the gear in If this works, go back to the bulb and check both positive and ground connections. If the trouble is down by the gearbox you could replace the gearbox switch with a manual swich up front, nice to have at night when the person behind you donīt dim his headlight too ;-)
