Joe, I've seen an early splittie with one was semi-factory not homemade but a custom similiar idea. it had a plywood extension that slid out from the back and used supports down from the hatch/door lip. this one seems to be suported by the poles underneath. I've considered a DIY version using a piece of plywood method. Guess I'll explore it in the spring for my TD riveria.
