I'm not sure what state your in Jeff, but I'm sure a copy of Hemmings Motor News is available any book store close to your local. Read it. There are hoards of outfits advertising in this publication that can satisfy anyone's specific needs. Discover new horizions. New methods. ( actually it isn't new at all, and totally legal, and I have used this method several times for imported MG's, Triumph's, & Sunbeam's. Why do you assume that a VW would be any different? ) Beside's, the vehicle is an almost 15 year old Vanagon, not a new Lamborgini. I'm sure that the CIA, KGB, & Scottland Yard will be looking for you right away fast after this caper. LOL. Pleeease. You are not speaking from any sort of practical experience I'm sure.
RC <<BAD ADVICE!!! Not legal!! Let me repeat... NOT LEGAL! Yes, the vehicle is legally registered in whatever state you title it in, but eventually, that VIN # will make it to the Feds and that's when the crap will hit the fan. Just because you can get a title DOES NOT mean that the vehicle is legally in this country. If anyone plans on doing this, please understand that you are breaking several federal laws. This method of titling a vehicle is akin to getting an ID under a false name. Yes I have a valid ID, but I broke the law doing it. Really, really bad advice. Please put on that "thinking cap" and do a little research before telling people they can circumvent the laws of the land. Yikes!!! Jeff>> |
