Subject: tranny mount and CV-joint bolt questions

Hi All, 84 Westy 4spd

2 Q's: a) Does anyone know if, when new, the tranny mount attaches to the inside of circle that encloses it at 3 points or 2? The rubber is separated at the top of the "triangle"; between wear and grime I can't tell if it tore away or not... not sure if this is ok or needs replacing.

b) Has anyone replaced the 12pt ("star-pattern") CV-joint bolts with plain ole hex-head bolts? Looks like they are M8 1.25pitch, about 50mm length, but the end of the 12pt bolt is slightly shorter and more tapered than the replacements I'm looking at... thanks for opinions.

Cheers, Mike
