I have almost 280k miles (450k kilometers) on my 90 Carat Vanagon. I am the second owner and it is the original engine with original heads and gaskets. This is the most I have ever heard of on a 2.1l with original motor and heads. Anyone went longer on original stuff?

My Westy has about 410,000 miles. Several engines and transmissions, most from wrecking yards. Still going strong.

I'm keeping an eye out for a "Jerry Masar" deal so I'll have a replacement when it hits 500,000.
