Subject: i done did fixxed it/88 vanagon that was missing
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

howdy yalll!!... well its me and my 1988 Wolfsburg Edition Vanagon. it was missing at lower revs. it would continue to do this until i tached the motor up. the other day when i was in tacoma i was on the interstate and it started to miss. i could keep up the speed i was traveling but not speed up. i could speed up slowly if i roled into the throttle very slowly(not my style, sometimes). so yesterday i got a chance to do some better inspecting. i had purchased a set of Bosch plug wires to install, but never got to that point. the ditributor cap at rotor had some wear/corrosion on them. so i cleaned/scraped/filed that off to the best of my ability without marking up the surface. still the problem persisted. so then i check the gap on all the spark plugs.(Bosch Super's) they were way off. at the most they should be .032", they were around .050"-.053". so corrected the gap of the plugs and reinstalled them. problem fixed. i will be replacing the fuel filter soon just cause i should. the plug wire look factory still(didnt know that they would last that long) i will be checking the resistance of those too.(my multi-meter was broken) so to those of you who adviced me, thank for your help. ok gotta go find something else that need to be fixed. chow rajesh 1988 Wolfburg Edition Vanagon
