By using the old beetle backbone, it insured that the rest of the old beetle was offf the streets, so, in that sense we are slightly more safe, and possibly the new engine was somewhat cleaner, especially if it had the new Mexi-beetle injection on it. BTW, Does anyone have any parts for these injections? Al Brase
