Subject: Frtidge Door Mod (Need feedback)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed

I have a fridge mod in mind and wanted to know if anyone has experience with similar. I would like to not have to OPEN the door when I want to switch between modes (12V, LP Gas, AC). This is a huge waste of the precious cool air inside. So, here is my idea:

Could you cut off the upper portion of the door (what, maybe the top 2 inches?) that covers the controls, leaving the bottom portion as it is installed. Then, affix this portion back to the lower with 2 small hinges on the outside, so that it swings out and down. Last, put a magnetic latch at the top to secure this upper portion closed when not accessing the controls.

Anyone ever attempted this or seen it done?

Thanks.
