A number of years ago I used to do business with a firm in Canada on weekly
basis. I was told to use an "International Bank Check."  Payable in Canadian
funds, never once had a problem.

also, I had 30 days to submit payment for orders and so used to daily watch
the exchange rate. Saved a bundle a few percent at a time.
