Date: Tue, 16 Nov 2004 07:13:38 -0800 I just wanted to send a /wave from a fellow upstate NY'er I have an 87 syncro i'll be restoring for next winter. I usually use isuzu troopers for my winter rats. my 1980 TD ASI camper wouldn't like the below 0 days just yet. Dan Stevens Syracuse New York. It will rust. My 91 Syncro Westy gets stored for the winter season and i recommend the same for any vehicle that you would like to keep mint. On the flip-side, I took a 87 Syncro with rusty seams, sandblasted all the rust and used POR15 on the rusty areas and then laid many coats of truck bed liner over the untire underbody & wheelwells. I powerwash this van on a weekly basis when it is salty. I am very pleased with this method. i'm sure that I sealed in all the rust that i couldn't see and in a matter of years it will eat through, but hey, this van is my Salt Beast and I have the most fun 4wheelin' with. Hope this helps. dylan |
