I have done it 7 times, 3 with poptops, 2 on Syncros. It is well worth the effort. Best done with the donor Westy nearby so you can take measurements for cutting and drilling the recipient as you go. It is not hard unless you try to follow the crazy methods posted in a few web pages. You do not need any roof or body metal from the donor. No welding is required, no repainting is required. I am scheduled to put a poptop on a friends Syncro next month and I may attempt to document the process for anyone who cares.
