I was fortunate to find 'my' (I say 'my' as I was the original! owner back in 19981) 81 westy sitting in someone's yard and it had not been registered in 2 years and was not in running condition. I called my mechanic and offered the 81 westy to him, minus a few parts that I wanted. He said 'sure' and we paid CDN $900 for the westy and I took the rear cabinets and a few other parts and he took the rest. The '81 cabinets were the fake wood-grain, and my 91 is the (nicer) two tone gray/grey. I went to Canadian Tire with the small cabinet door from my 91, and they computer matched the colour in their toughest paint (what I think they call Melmine/Melmeen, or some such). I removed the cabinets to paint them so that I could do each flat, horizontal surface without drips/runs as I put the paint on a bit thick. I used a roller for this paint. I used spray shoe paint (from your shoe repair shop) for the trim. Worked very well if I do say so myself. I can send digi pics. Be sure to clean the years of grime from the cabinets as paint does not adhere well to grime. M
