I replaced the fuel filter on my 83 1.6 diesel in the hopes that this would solve my cold start problem. Well, it didnıt. Went out midday today and ran down the battery trying to start the darn thing. It turned over nicely for a while, but no go. Hooked up the wifeıs volvo for a jump and after quite some time, it started right up. Iım suspecting that itıs some sort of vapor lock or leak in the fuel system. Any thoughts? Whatıs the best way to go about troubleshooting these things? I know with gas engines itıs basically fuel or fire. So in a diesel would it be fuel or compression? Dave |
