Ok, next steps...
Starter removed, but power wires put together to continue power to
engine...
With key on, no power to fuel pump...
Have both relays out and they seem to have same ohm reading for same
poles (relays on LH side of cab, on top of coil)
What could the causes be of having no power to the fuel pump? All fuses
under the LH side of the dash look fine...I am assuming having the
starter out of the vehicle should make no difference as long as those 2
powered wires coming off the back of it are bolted together...

Removed wires from starter...no more "short"...
Will get new starter tomorrow and start troubleshooting the rest of the
fix...any recommendations? I am starting with the coil...how does one
know that the ECU is working or not? Would the idiot lights still
work??? HELP!!!

Hi David,
Have you isolated the starter yet and, if so, was that where your short
was?
Mike
