It's ridiculous to even consider such an endeavor. At best you still have a 14 year-old van with 14 year-old technology. A STUPID move for anyone except someone for whom that kind of money is small potatoes. Guarantee that things will start failing as with all other Vanagons, regardless of what's been replaced. I'd like to have it, but would never pay (that much) for it.
