Hi all,

Thanks for your advice. Of course you all know I'm not a mechanic, and by myself, the only person camping in all of Lathrop State Park somewhere in Colorado, I wasn't going to risk killing myself.

So once again I called AAA. Tried starting Matilda a few more times, no dice. When the tow truck came I tried again, no dice. Got towed to the recommended repair place, was dropped off outside. They tried starting her, no dice. Then they got her into the bay and she started.

GRRRRR.

Now he's seeing if he can figure out what's wrong.

These folks aren't specialized VW mechanics, but their person loves working on VWs, used to have one, etc. So if you find yourself in this corner of Colorado, they're good to know about:

Curtis and Ronny Pryor PRYORity Auto Service (yeah, that's how they spell it) 1018 W. 7th Street Walsenburg, CO 81089 717-738-2842

Larry, can you add them to your website?

I'll let you all know what happens! Hopefully I will really make it to Phoenix by Sunday...

Joy
