Hi John,

Our "westfakia" is configured very similar to the layout of a "weekender" Vanagon... This makes the vehicle very practical as a second car for the family and I've always felt that the westfalia kitchen was designed for a couple rather than a family. At least, not for a family of five.

After a couple of extended family trips with the weekender configuration, I came to the realization that we needed more storage capacity. A trailer would definitely help. So over the past three years I have been refining the "Westrailer"... It's a box trailer that uses a westy pop-top for the lid with tail-lights that match my bus. This trailer isn't used for sleeping, but it does provide an excellent kitchen facility that has proven extremely useful on a campsite or at a roadside lunch or dinner stop.

A vanagon model would not be to hard to make.

Happy trails,
