I have power mirrors and love them. Have never had a problem with them being blown out of place. There is a spring-loaded nut concealed in the base, that on my drivers side mirror occasionally needs to be tightened. The mirrors can be moved back against the body for tight spaces or moved forward so the mirror is facing away from the body so one can use them as a mirror in camp for whatever one uses a mirror for. They can be adjusted manually. I think they can be fitted to older vans, but I'll leave that to people who have done it, to answer. The only downside, is that bugs deflect off the inner angle and splat on the side window and then get smeared when you lower the window.
