George, my philosphy stems from an old Kenny Roger's song. "You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run..."

Since the folks here at Van-Again are not only parts sellers but mechanics we are always actually using and installing the things we sell. I don't like returns from parts sales, I don't like customer's bringing their vans back. Thankfully I can say that we have a very low rate of both. It is because we choose the best quality part that we can for the job or for our customers based on our experience with those parts. If a part (like the Napa fuel hose in question) has failed us in the past we like to share this information with others. It says "Made in the USA" in big white letters on it. It is garbage. On the other hand I just got a customer's van in my shop that I installed one of our fuel line kits on seven years ago. The hose is still in very good condition with no signs of leaking. The proof is in the pudding.

Sometimes the best quality part out there comes from Turkey or Brazil or Poland or England or France. I hate to tell you this but each of these countries I just mentioned are suppliers for VW and I have seen these country names actually engraved, raised, or imprinted on VW parts from the dealer. One lady got upset with me a couple of weeks ago because some of the coolant hoses for her 1.9l Automatic came from Turkey instead of Germany. They were VW! There is no other source for them. She should be happy they can still be had at all.

Hope this clears things up for you a bit.
