I'm also a novice, but this summer I took my van to my mechanics parking lot and I (armed with list's 'how-to' posts) removed the dash. While it was out, and not trusting myself with the brakes, I watched as my mechnic took about 5 minutes to R&R the master cylinder. I could have done it. But he said that it was MUCH easier with the dash out. It did take a bit to bleed the air out of the system though. So if you have any reason to replace your front heater core and fan motor, it might be worth doing it all at once. m2cw. M
