I can think of a few Messerschmitt vehicles which were a wee bit faster... say 450mph...

There's no "or". A "Vanagon" *IS* a Type 2. Type 25, to be specific.

Masswise, I tawt dese were one-tonne vans, like the later Splits & de Bays. Or a Hiace. Heck, the small Liteace which was sold in the US in the mid80s is a 3/4-tonne van. Load limits will be based on spring performance first, then tires.

Back a few years (like say 25), I noted that my 3/4-tonne 57 Split handled noticably better on long trips ith a heavy load on board, say a year's living supplies and a Honda CB450 K6 (not a light bike). No oversteer at all when thrown into a bend... no understeer either, dead neutral. -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut
