Well Chris and Eric,
If you guys start a lonely guys vanagon club I certainly must join.
One of my buddies here who goes camping a lot in his 91 syncro westy is
also a single dude, we seem to spend all of our time doing something related
to
vanagons, camping, thinking about camping, traveling, chasing the Larry
Chase icon.
I made a joke to him that we need to find some "westy girls". These would be
women
who hate high class hotels / motels and fully equipped RVs.
We somehow feel that these "westy women" are really out there and will love
us
for who and what vw freaks we are.
That they would be totally content viewing new places and sites through the
large adequate windshield of our vanagons, no complaining only gratitude for
the man and his machine.
Heck if Harley dudes can get hot women to ride cross country on the back of
a bike
seems like we would have em jumping to get in our vans with us....
Perhaps Chris you can hook us up with some signs for our vans.
Wanted-"westy girl"
I have a good vanagon woman scare story for you guys if you want to hear
it.
p-mail me .
BTW do either of you know if the pinion shaft in the syncro trans can be
put into a "neutral" position to disengage it from the gear box?
by any means possible, linkage, shift fork position, or modification?
Doug
