The only thing that saved my van from being a total was the to hitch I had on. It was the type that mounted to the tie down loops. Normally bent outward it was bent inward afterwards and from the shape of the bumper brackets the only thing that saved me. If I had still had my aircooled engine in it would have still been a total as there would have been absolutely no crush room.
