Robert, and all the other posters, thanks for the suggestions about the mirrors. No, I didn't find a better way. I'm just not on the list every day. I need to work once in a while :-) What I don't like about the power mirror version is all the electrics. Does anyone know what they weigh? And of course the $$. Might have better aerodynamics - less wind noise? The permanent lock down thing is interesting, but mirrors aren't supposed to be completely locked down for safety reasons.
