At 4 PSI I don't think there is going to be any head blowing issues assuming
the motor is in good condition now.
There are lots of people out there who say that turboing a non-turbo motor
isn't the thing to do. bah! There are LOTS of people out there who have
strapped a 1.6 Turbo Diesel manifold and turbo on a 1.8L Rabbit GTI motor or
the Canadian 1.8L Golf CL motor and have 150+ hp and they have been running
this way for a few years at 8 to 10PSI. Four PSI is nothing and quite
honestly don't knock it until you try it. I personally haven't tried
turbing a non-turbo motor, but I have seen enough people do it to know that
it is certainly possible to be done and last a long time. Schrick in
Germany made a turbo kit for the Vanagon wasserboxer during the late 80s -
these vans are still around. I think it can be done!

I'm not going yell at you but you will have to listen me laugh when you blow
the heads off that thang
I can see it now like a flag in the wind those heads just flapping in the
breeze and you coasting to a stop wondering if you can get it home and fixed
before anybody finds out.
can you post some pictures of the install or p mail them to me I would like
to see it in place. Can you still close the deck lid?
It must have some real get up and go
Your Buddy Bob
