Eric,

The inverter I mentioned at 70watts runs my laptop and cellphones at leak efficiency. I would hardly call them useless as I can run a real estate and mortgage business completely on the road most times. Those businesses allow me to pay for my Syncros and other toys. I would hardly call that useless.
