Having any mechanical apptitude Mr. Zeno, you could possibly grasp the poosible concept of removing and replacing the problimatic mirror mount hex bolt. All this is doing is replacing the hex stud and locking the mirror mount down tight, without having to deal with the stud pulling out before reaching the point of locking the arm to the mount. As far as I can see it's a professional fix, and the mirror's don't move, and a simple solution. This is what is documented in the archives, I tried it, and it worked better than anything else that had been ever suggested, like filing, sanding, gluing whatever, to the ball mount. You must have run to a real hill rod modified junker that you obviously stripped because it was in tip top condition.

You took way too long to get the junk mirror working right, I would have thrown it out.

LOL.

This guy took the time to drill several holes thru the very bottom of the plastic and into the ball to hold the mirror in place. He then inserted a few screws as hard and deep as he could, causing several of them to break off.   It took me several hours to undo all his damage, and maybe 1/2 hour to get the mirror working correctly.>>                                                                                                                             E
