Hi folks,

First let me apologize for the double+ post to those of you who belong to more than one list.

The engine swap was just completed in my 1989 Syncro 16. It originally had a factory installed 1.6td engine. I had a 1.9td (AAZ) from Overland installed in it's place. Unfortunately, I was not present when they removed the engine. Now I am faced with trying to identify what remains from the old set-up for possible adaptation to the new.

There is what appears to be an airpump of some sort on the left side of the engine compartment. It has some electrical connection to it and what appeared to be paper/fabric hoses which were originally attached to the old airfilter housing. It is residing in the place where I intended to install a K & N filter which I in planned to seal from engine heat. What is the function of this equipment?

TIA, BenT
