Each year someone comes up with a calendar idea that pictures various Vanagons, Busses etc. The production cost is normally about $12.00 each on a production run of 1000 calendars. To break even on the Vanagon calendars they need to sell for about $12.00 each plus the 90 cents postage. In short ................ the producer normally sells only 400 calendars. One hundred years from now these will be great collectors items so buy all you can afford and store them in a safe deposit box at your bank. Expected value in 100 years would be about $1.20 each. That won't be quite enough to cover the $12.00 per year safe deposit rental so be sure you also store lots of aluminum foil and pieces of string to hedge your investment. Most frugal VW owners just take the pictures submitted and clip the ones they like to put on their own calendar they print at home. As for me, I have enough bad dreams already so I don't need to be flashing calendar pictures planting material for the next "If I had Only" flashback or the "If I knew then what I know now flashback". You can contact Larry Chase at roadguy@roadhaus.com and he'll tell you where the potential calendar pictures can be viewed. Just on thing! Please don't down load the pictueres. Hold off till the printing date in June 2005 and buy his calendar.
