My new 1.9TD is so quiet that you couldn't tell whether there was a muffler or not before I had one installed. Now that it is complete, I've had at least two people (who own VW's) come to tell me that I should have my valves adjusted since they were clattering a little bit. I used a borrowed line from my buddy Jero, "Almost sounds like a diesel, doesn't it? Just kinda quieter."
