Al,
   We use a stove top espresso maker.  One added piece of equipment needed
is a round metal grate that goes over the overly large westy stove holes to
hold the maker in place.  Our espresso maker makes two large cups of strong
coffee (we also use the same maker at home).  As for beans...we usually
pre-grind.  I find that it matters less if  you grind just before you brew
verses the quality of your coffee.  We always spend large amounts of money
at our coop on organic, free trade coffee that is locally roasted.  I was
skeptical at first if all those adjectives were really essential for my
morning brew but now I'm convinced.
   As for hardware you could also use a coffee press.  If you need to grind
then just install an inverter and another battery.
