Hello all- On the day of thanks I am reminded of just how much I love my westy!

I have an ill '84 westy. Anyone have any ideas regarding the Battery and Oxygen Sensor dash lights coming on at the same time?? This morning I was 10 minutes into an hour long drive, on the freeway and doing about 65 mph when I noticed that both lights were on, pulled off at the next exit to check belts, fluids, fuses, and wires in the engine compartment. After finding nothing extraordinary, I continued without incident the final 45 miles to my destination.

The things I do know: This afternoon we changed the alternator. The battery was dead (and dieing) Turns out the old alternator was shot. (switched the non-power-producing old one with a working alternator from a 2.1). Seems to work. The van runs well, sounds like there may be a little backfire action if you listen closely (OSX??). Even after replacing the alternator the lights are still on.

I am wondering about possible relays or switches that could be acting up or just dead.

Any ideas or experience would be totally appreciated- Thanks-

Tyler Steele Columbus, OH 84 Westy (very thankful for all of the good times and smiles it has created, on me and others!)
