I don't drive yet: like you, an anti car, cyclist.

I am in the market for a type 2 westfalia for touring around europe.

My main requirement is that i don't have to do any work to it or repair it!

Can you advise me on the many different options.

Most used westy's are around 20yy old these days, so the no work or repair would be difficult, and probably most owners of these old ones are doing lots of little somall things themselves (often on the road)

Personally I like the 81-91 Diesels. They are relatively reliable and if something breaks it is easy and intuitive to fix (no fancy computers or electronics as in the gas engines)

To find a simple to work with gas engine you have to back to the 70's models using the carburated bug/beetle 1600cc engine.

Now there are of course new ones to buy (in Europe), but quite expensive.
