Thanks to all that responded. Fuel pressure was dwindling day by day after I made a better ground connection. Hit the ignition switch and a whopping 14# showed up on the gauge and that's prolly residual pressure from the night before. That $250 non bosch rebuilt fuel pump(don't break down in Omaha!!!) is apparently locked up(although I will do the Jim Fritz roto-rooter job on it before spending big bucks on a REAL pump. Prolly replace the regulator too. What's money when it comes to fixing your Vanagon?
