Check the voltage of the battery. Make sure it is at least 12.5v or higher (depending on temperature, type of battery, and current state of charge.) if below that check the voltage out on the terminal clamps as well as directly on the terminals and make sure you have good clamp connection. (did you reclamp tightly?)

With the engine running check the voltage at the battery. Should read about 13.5v or higher if the alternator is working. Check the battery terminal connections and alternator connections that meet at the starter terminal. Check the battery ground. Check the transmission engine ground.
