Oil change every 5000km / 3000 miles. Every time I change my oil I do checks, like CV boots, oil leaks, ball joints, tie rods. I don't keep the motors in my vehicles long enough, but you are supposed to change your coolant every four year with phosphate free stuff. Basically, at this age, drive it till something breaks. Do a good inspection during oil changes for wear items and have fun. Hello, My '89 Westy is almost at 100k and I've been told that my vanagon should be serviced every 3000 miles; this is far more frequent than my manual indicates. Is there such a thing as a list of items to be performed or checked for at these 3k intervals? How do you folk maintain your vanagons? Cheers. |
