Max, I'm the guy with the 700 watts..and you're right, that's not RMS. The RMS figure is more like 280 watts from one 4 channel (big) Pioneer amp and another two channel bridged Pioneer (smaller) amp to power the sub. Or more scientifically, "The power required to reproduce sound of sufficient undistorted volume to allow pleasant auditory reception whilst travelling at highway speeds, window lowered, in a 1990 Westfalia GL." Joking aside, that was the goal. Of course now with a baby seat strapped in the back for travel, the auditory reception is more like "gurgling, spitting, and plaintive wailing". |
