There is a t shirt available on ebay, item #3943414885, which shows a pre-80 air-cooled type body / bus camper and labels it as an 87 Vanagon Camper GL. I wrote to T-shirt kings the seller pointing out that this wasn't a vanagon in the picture and got the following reply: "We like to point out that the design of the T-shirt is not from the US and outside the US the vehicle bodystyle was still produced in such countries as Mexico (possibly still produced today), using the name Vanagon." Is this correct? Was the name Vanagon ever used for any other body that what we in the US and Canada call a Vanagon? I don't claim to know as much about this nomenclature as several list members, but don't recall Vanagon being used for that body type. I thought it would have been called a transporter or a Kombi as in Brazil, on the page had linked in an earlier email. One of my son's doctors is from Brazil and we have talked about the Kombis before. Maybe I am wrong, so let me know. Sam
