Well, winter is finally getting its grip on us up here in upstate NY, by fits and starts... time for the Westy to go into hibernation. Road salt. Y'all southerners and west coast folks may not appreciate how lucky you are, driving your Vanagons year round without guilt. Oh the pathos :-) Updated my Westy pages just now as a coping strategy... <http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/rdh24/vw/index_vw.html>

Already thinking about getting her out of the garage around xmas for a major road trip out West - either to Death Valley or up the N Cal coast to Oregon. Anybody who lives out there, what's your opinions on the weather situation in early january in either place. Camp-able in comfort with decent sleeping bag, or shivery? Feel free to pmail to cut list traffic.

y'all take care now Robert Harris '84 Westy Ithaca, NY (formerly Athens, GA)
