Is there anything that can be left out on the rebuild that might cause this to happen? From the manual, it doesn't look like there is much that can be left out and have the switch not work. Is it saft to take the switch off to check it without affecting the operation of the transmission (things falling off into the trans housing)? Just checking before I do something stupid. > >William > > William, when my manual tranny was rebuilt, somehow the shop managed to break my backup light switch. Took every bit of 5 minutes to fix, not counting the time to put it up on the rack. The switch just sits in a little bracket mounted on the side of the tranny. No big deal. The switch could be broken, the electrical connector could be off the post, or the bracket could need adjusting for contact to be made. Regards, John Rodgers 88 GL Driver |
