High ratio rocker arms, up to 1.4:1 I believe, are available for our vehicles. Do they improve performance? Do they contribute to excessive valve, valve seat, or valve train wear? If you have them or have used them, I'd be really interested to hear your experiences. I have had a set of 1.25 ratio rocker arms on my Camper for three years along with S&S headers, Dynomax muffer, K&N air filter and synthetic oil. I haven't done any quantitive testing, but am happy with the way the van performs. Fuel mileage was not effected significantly, it still gets between 19-20 mpg consistently. Oil consumption did increase to a quart every 1500-2000 miles after I installed the rocker arms, before the installation the motor used no oil. I would recommend installing them only on new or rebuilt heads, not on ones that have any significant mileage on them.

Good luck,
