If this is a case I would cut from the outside of the van. If anyone has a vanagon that is being dismantled could you please look into this. I think that if you remove the grill and also the grill that covers the heater intake, you could cut some of the sheet mettle to gain access to the fan area. Please correct me you guys that have a few of these being dismantled. If so this would allow you to clean the net and lubricate the bearing and save a ton of work removing the dash. I've sean this done to lube the clutch peddles. Eric
