Subject: another fuel expansion tank question

Hi All,

Can someone please explain the purpose of the fuel expansion tanks? Well, besides apparently sending debris back into the main gas tank when those top seals fail...

Guessing there's some vapor trapping/recycling involved, and wondering if some clogging/malfuntion of these that causes that splashy gas burp if I fill the tank too quickly...

And maybe also why I've never seen another vehicle with them?

Not that I'm particularly well-travelled mind you, but if I can hammer out these last few issues in my Westy, I might be...

Thanks, Mike 84's
