I absolutely agree. If you really want to get it out fast, maybe just
get some dynamite! If taking the dash out is a big chore for you, you
are simply not up to the task. It is by far the easy part. Hell,
splitting the heater housing is a bigger chore for me. It is glued
together and I used a utility knife and carefully worked my way around
the seams cutting it back apart
BTW, there could even be mouse excrement in the aforementioned heater
intake duct sheet metal.
Another hint: If you have a digicam (or any camera) take several
pictures to help you remember where things go, like cables, wires, cable
ties, etc. I probably have files of my old 1991 under dash pictures if
someone needs them.
I didn't even bother to unhook the ground wire, didn't see any reason
to, but all the books will tell you to, and it can't hurt.
