I noted that my vredestien tires had a much heavier tread than normal truck
tires as well. Noted that the vredestiens were also about an inch higher in
circumference. I looked at another type of commercial tire and saw the same
heavier tread. Suspecting that commercial grade tires get a couple
thousandths more tread than normal light truck tires. On my set of
vredestiens that got destroyed the tread were was at 60% after 13k miles
that included a wide mix of highway and dirt roads.
Would be interested in tread life from others on using commercial grade
tires.
